from Davek’s about page
Their flagship product is an umbrella called the Solo. I’ve been using it, along with their Elite umbrella, for a few months. Here are my thoughts…
The Davek Solo
The Solo is what looks like a pretty standard compact umbrella, but when I held it for the first time and used it, I was blown away.

I wasn’t literally blown away because Davek’s umbrellas are wind-resistant, but I was thoroughly impressed.
What surprised me was how high-quality every part of the Solo felt. The leather end, the metal clip, the button that has just the right amount of tension.

From the get-go, it was clear to me that I was holding an umbrella that was much higher quality than any other I had ever used.

Imagine if you’d been wearing the cheapest
With normal umbrellas, you have to pull them closed. Let’s be honest, it’s not awful but it’s definitely not very user-friendly. On the Solo, the button is a game-changer. You use the button to open and close the umbrella. It’s a feature that really shows the thought that Davek put into the design.

For me, the size (less than 1′ long) works well as it can easily fit in a backpack, but if you want something even smaller, take a look at the Mini and Traveler models.
I’m impressed with the Solo. It looks great, the open-close button works well, it’s wind-resistant, and it’s compact. I have no complaints. Davek really nailed the function and the aesthetic.
The Davek Elite
The Solo is a nice compact umbrella, but if you don’t mind a larger umbrella, the Elite is a great option. It’s a classic cane umbrella with a larger canopy than the Solo.

Davek actually makes an umbrella called the Duet that’s designed to be used by two people, but I’ve found that the Elite is definitely an adequate size for my girlfriend and me to use together.
Just like the Solo, I’m very impressed by the design of the Elite. The leather handle is a nice touch, and I love the look of a cane umbrella.

A sturdy metal tip rounds out the look and practicality of the Elite, making it a stylish and functional umbrella.
Final Recommendation: Worth Every Penny
Buying a high-quality umbrella is something that I never considered, but after owning a couple of Davek’s umbrellas, I realize what I’ve been missing.
Their umbrellas are much better than any others I’ve used. Between the durable build and lifetime warranty, I think I’ll use them for life.
